The Identity Vector
Understanding the 128-dimensional mathematical representation of your personality
The Identity Vector (The Hexagon)
Traditional personality tests give you a label: "You are an INTJ" or "You are a Type 5". But labels are limited—they can't capture the full complexity of who you are.
EQVector takes a fundamentally different approach.
Beyond Labels: A Mathematical Identity
Instead of just assigning you a 4-letter type, EQVector creates a 128-dimensional mathematical vector that represents your unique psychological fingerprint. Think of it like a DNA sequence—but for your personality.
Why does this matter? A 4-letter MBTI type has only 16 possible combinations. But a 128-dimensional vector has virtually infinite precision.
What the Hexagon Shows
The hexagonal radar chart you see in your profile visualizes key dimensions of this vector:
-
Big Five Traits (OCEAN)
- Openness to Experience
- Conscientiousness
- Extraversion
- Agreeableness
- Neuroticism
-
Cognitive Functions
- 8 Jungian functions: Ti, Te, Ni, Ne, Si, Se, Fi, Fe
-
Schwartz Values
- 10 basic human values (Power, Achievement, Hedonism, etc.)
-
Plutchik Emotions
- 8 primary emotional tendencies
-
Predictive Markers
- Conflict style, burnout risk, innovation potential
How It's Calculated
Your vector is generated through a scientific mapping process:
MBTI + Enneagram + Interview Responses → Identity Vector
Step 1: Your MBTI preferences are projected into Big Five space using correlation matrices from McCrae & Costa (1989).
Step 2: Your Enneagram type contributes values and emotional tendencies.
Step 3: Your actual interview responses add fine-grained detail.
Step 4: Health level and instinct stack modulate the final output.
Why This Matters
With a high-dimensional vector, we can:
- ✅ Capture contradictions (e.g., introverted but socially skilled)
- ✅ Track growth over time (your vector evolves)
- ✅ Find compatible people with mathematical precision
- ✅ Give the AI Coach nuanced understanding of you
The 4 Sides of the Mind
Building on C.S. Joseph's theory, your Identity Vector also captures 4 sides of your personality:
| Side | Definition | INTJ Example | | ---------------- | ---------------------- | ------------ | | Ego | Your conscious self | INTJ | | Subconscious | Your aspirational self | ESFP | | Unconscious | Your shadow/critic | ENTP | | Superego | Your destructive mode | ISFJ |
These sides are activated based on your health level and stress—another dimension traditional tests completely miss.
